I help a new CS1 here at the office setup her laptop. Part of the setup was to install SQL 2K8.
Insert CD. nothing happens.
Wait.
Wait.
Still nothing.
Oh. Oops. I put in in the wrong computer. Haha.
Press eject. Nothing happens.
Press eject again. Still nothing.
"Would you happen to have a paper clip? Looks like I am going to have to force eject the tray."
Now a good tech would probably shut down the computer before doing a forced eject.
Me? Nah. Don't need to, drive is not working so there won't be a problem.
Unbend the paper clip. Insert it into the little hole.
*GRIND* *GRIND* *GRIND*
"huuun. Ohboy. Looks like the drive was still spinning, therefore still had a grid on the CD."
Shut down the computer, by means of a forced shutdown as it was not closing gracefully. Drive finally stops spinning. Had to pry it open, and yup. Instant coaster.

Another zinger.
I was going to point out that if you put the disc in the wrong computer, you probably should have used the right computer's screen and keyboard to eject it properly.
I would think removing the hard drive is a more important step no?
... the one you forgot.
If you didn't forget a step?
Would that render them all unimportant?
The one you missed becomes most important.
