Heavy Rain a must buy
What? A PS3 game on Herd of Cats? Well why not?
So my personal game reviewer (I keep him in the closet at the back of my office) was quite miffed that I took Monday off. He had to wait a additional 24 hours before he could tell me of the awesomeness that was Heavy Rain. "This is the Game that the Playstation 3 needed all along."
"This game will make people buy the PS3."
Apparently, he quite liked it. He played through the entire game in a 48 hour period including staying up to 4 AM. His wife (essentially a non-gamer) sat down to watch and never left. Heavy Rain is very much a game of moral choices. My personal game reviewer was quite comedic explaining the argument between him and his wife after a moral choice that ended in the death of a character. His marriage will survive but I don't think his couch was that comfortable.
So if you happen to already have a PS3(I won't advocate anyone rushing out to buy one) be sure to pick up a copy of Heavy Rain

but not quite.
I could go on about this game for a while, but all I'll say is that a game with the idea of interactive fiction, and in a sense narrative re-playability (as apposed to ludic re-playability), makes this a very unique looking experience. Emotional attachment in game design is also quite rare, which is a shame really, as games could benefit from using empathy for game characters.
...If you do decide to get a PS3 and the game make sure you get some screen cleaner, paper towels and kleenex as well, since it appears that you are going to have an emotional attachment to the game.
The chick dies.
No, a gun to my temple will make me buy the PS3.
....I bought myself one when the slim came out. It is worth every penny!
Plays CDR DVDR out of the box!
The only irritating part is the Blue Tooth remote. Have to get an extra gadget for it to work with Harmony other than that great device. Too bad it doesn't have any good games like the xbox (I only buy the good exclusives like heavy rain when they are discounted). Oh and did I mention bluray player!
....I should probably add the lack of PS2 compatibility (at least on mine) is another irritation.
Graybush and I love my PS3 (but you probably already knew that). It's a very cool toy regardless of gaming whereas the Xbox360 is a piece of (expletive) that is only worth having because of XboxLive.

...wait for it...
Blu-Ray is irrelevant.
