I also get the security error but the login step take you to a separate https://login.live.com/ link.
Having to reenter your info is typical MS, left hand not talking to right hand.
They don't ask for credit card or paypal info.
And the original link came from TeamXbox who is legitimate.
On the other hand, I didn't get my 500 points yet but it may be because I wasn't a live member in 2002.
If you read the disclaimer, the points will only be given out in a month or so. I think at the end of the year.
"There is an issue with registration at this time. Please try again later. "
Still haven't received an official email. May have something to do with registering for Xbox Live using "fuck@you.com".

This link pops-up a unknown certificate, and when I accept it, proceeds to ask me my personal information.
Microsoft already has all of that.
