Best Buy now accepting game trade-ins in Ottawa

While researching some last-minute Halo Reach Deals, I came across this interesting bit of information.

Now I know Future Shop and Best Buys across Canada have been offering game trade-ins for over a year now, but none of the stores in the National Capital region seemed to be participating. They all offered used games for sale, but never bought them from you. I always assumed this was due to the high level of competition in the area, what with stores like Blockbuster, Rogers Video, EB Games and Microplay all vying to rip you off.

So you can imagine my surprise when clicking on this link brought me to a page essentially confirming the participation of all three Best Buy stores in the area! But to be honest it's not really that exciting, as all they give you is some lousy store credit in exchange for your mint edition of Dead or Alive: Beach Volleyball. But this particular promo caught my eye: Trade 2 and get $60 credit towards the purchase of Halo: Reach.

Pretty much the same deal as EB Games has been offering (which also applies to any game released this month), but bear with me: I'm still feeling the afterglow of the whole Best Buy accepting trade-ins thing. The kicker is the list of accepted games, part of which I've excerpted here (the Xbox titles only– pretty cheeky to accept trades from other systems for a Halo game):

So yeah, definitely some trade options there, and some can readily be found for $20 each if you're not willing to trade your games in just yet. But like I said, these are just the Xbox titles. Full list here.

The only downside to this deal is the fact that it's only valid for 3 days, all of which fall conspicuously after the pre-order bonuses expire. But hey, you can't have it all.

Did I mention that Ottawa Future Shops now take game tade-ins too?
