The 7 Days of Halo 4! Day 1!
Coxxorz, you can just skip reading from here. Nothing to worry about I would never play it without you.
Anyway, for the rest of you...
Opening the box
I opened up my Halo 4 Limited Edition box and it was pretty full. I really liked the white steelbook case. Two DVDs. All the included Xbox codes are sealed in foil wrappers and I can't bring myself to cut them open yet. Soon maybe, but not yet.
Oh yeah, I played it and it was good.
It was Halo just as expected but better. Not just because it was newer. They stuck to the formula but strayed enough to make it interesting.
The graphics are exceptional, byplay between Cortana and Master Chief is bang on and the weapons are drastically improved. The sound, the vibration effects and the reloading animation are all improved. The standard assault rifle no longer feels like you are firing a toy. Still no range but you finally feel like you are doing damage to close enemies. I no longer ditch it as soon as possible. I now wait until it is empty before grabbing something else.
I still prefer the shotgun or the battle rifle but I am no longer embarrassed to be seen carrying an assault rifle.
Speaking of, I am going to hold down the X button now:
I will hug you and squeeze you, pet you and love you, and I will call you Shotty.
Anyway. It's Halo, still with shotguns. You don't need to pick it up just because you are a fan boy – you can pick it up because it's good. It has what the previous Halos had and more. Plus four player co-op is still included! See you soon.

I actually saw the mailman arrive this morning, but alas no package. I was resigned to purchasing a copy in-store, with the intention of returning the online order with my store receipt once it arrived. All that was left was to wait until tomorrow's inevitable door hanger from Canada Post explaining how they had sincerely attempted delivery the day before, but it would really save them a lot of trouble by just going in and picking up the package myself.
But then an odd thing happened.
I arrived at work to find a package waiting on my desk. Apparently I had outsmarted myself and shipped it to where I knew someone would be able to accept the delivery. Thanks, 2011 Coxxorz!
