Mission Impossible CRV caused by a burnout out fuse

It doesn't get any more anti-climatic than that...

I know that's some pretty strong language but I want to make sure that fuse knows just how miffed I am. One small burnt out fuse. It sounds bad just saying it.

Anyway, my CRV is running now and more importantly I can shift it out of Park. My mechanic was pretty embarrassed too and charged me the minimum labour charge that he could. I did tip him pretty well though. For the extra trip he made to Starbucks and perhaps a little bit to buy his silence. I think he wanted to give it back so that I would also remain silent about how long it took him to diagnosis the problem.

So the CRV is running but everyone is pretty embarassed about the process that got it there.

PS- Due to demand the YouTube video from yesterday's story "Stuck Gear Shifter Fix (temporary)" is included after the break.

Blown fuse was one of my first suggestions!

But you should be, for not mentioning that your cowling has a hole specifically for shift lock release.
