I had heard about this and finally watched it. It's so well done I had to share.

US Navy will use Xbox controllers to steer submarine periscopes

They should at least use the Elite controller.
Also, $38,000 really?

Freestyle Playground: Destiny 2 Live Action Dance Trailer

By Blackwalt - Posted on 06 September 2017

Destiny 2 launches today. Japan helps you celebrate with the following launch trailer

Thanks Japan.

Stormblade is already warming up his dance moves for the next HoC LAN Party. A restraining order against Q-Bert is in the works.

Here is a link to HoC Dancing in the original Destiny. Stormblade is missing but I put his dancing links in the above paragraph.

Note: I have not picked up a copy of Destiny 2. Is this something we are doing? I am trying to stretch my gaming budget across this Autumn and it is not going well...

Do You Even Game Bro: Dead Alliance Review

By Blackwalt - Posted on 05 September 2017

We may have dodged a bullet not picking up Dead Alliance on launch

We did talk about Dead Alliance on Herd of Cats but I am glad we waited to pick it up. Such a good idea for combining zombies and multiplayer battles. Too bad it didn't come to fruition.

Destiny 2 Live Action Trailer

By Blackwalt - Posted on 02 September 2017

Not the puppies!

Everything you love about Earth is gone. Except for the Last City. And now a psycho rhino named Ghaul is coming to take that away too. On September 6, it’s time to grab some big guns, unite our scattered heroes, and take back our home.

Nathan Fillion rocks!

And yes, we are more cat people. I seem to remember we played the original Destiny quite a bit across both the 360 and the One. However, I am still not sure whether I am picking this up or not. Too many games coming out, too little budget. Will have to see what everyone else is planning.

Releasing September 6th by the way. That is this week!

Ark is here!

By Coxxorz - Posted on 29 August 2017

After two years in "Early Access" status, Studio Wildcard has finally officially released Ark: Survival Evolved with all new content and servers. Unfortunately they have also retired many existing low-population servers to do so, resulting in much table flipping. Luckily the smarter gamers among us play on more than one. Read more

Catching up with Monster Hunter: World

By Blackwalt - Posted on 26 August 2017

I realized I am posting hand-ons before we even talked about the game

Monster Hunter: World™ introduces a living, breathing ecosystem in which players strive to become the ultimate hunter. Explore a vast new continent and slay terrifying monsters in heart-pounding co-op battles for up to four players. The first worldwide launch in the series on PlayStation®4 and Xbox One in early 2018.

So it is possible, although unlikely, that I occasionally go off on tangents about different games. Sometimes this works out (Borderlands, Dead Island) and sometimes it doesn't (Operation Raccoon City). Sometimes the games are only of interest to certain Clan Members (The Crew, Ark Survival Involved, Fortnite). If nothing else, it does provide us with content.

Monster Hunter: World appears to be one of those tangents. It will probably land in the third category edging toward the first. It is a four player cooperative game, it is open world, and it targets giant monsters which appear to be a cross between dinosaurs and dragons. No zombies that I can tell but it still hits many of the HoC Points of Interest.

I keep hearing about Monster Hunter: World

By Blackwalt - Posted on 24 August 2017

It's been on my radar since it was announced at E3

I have always heard about Monster Hunter games but they have always been on 3DS or other platforms I did not own.

Now coming as an Open World cooperative game, Monster Hunter: World has captured my interest and will be available on Xbox One.

From Polygon: Watch 12 minutes of hands-on gameplay

in the video above, you can watch just over 12 minutes from our recent hands-on session with the game. We join a group of hunters from Capcom to take on the Anjanath, a large, fire-breathing dinosaur that really doesn’t like being hunted.

No vampires or zombies. Instead you equip your hunters and cooperatively take down gigantic lizards and similar monsters.

HoC Random Mobile Game of the Day - 08212017

It is the perfect HoC game as it involves yelling at each other

RollyC discovered this game at his Game Changers Summer Camp and forced his parental units to download and play it. Fun was had.

2-4 players. Cooperative. In the same room only (well... within yelling range).

More info at the Official Game Page and a trailer is provided after the break.
