Now on Xbox One: Kerbal Space Program

By Blackwalt - Posted on 19 July 2016

It's not rocket science!

Oh wait. It totally is rocket science.

Kerbal Space Program (KSP) has been a labor of love since day one. We all got involved with KSP because we were enchanted with the idea of a space game in which plucky, whimsical characters meet space. The team has grown over the years, and many of the current developers began as players, modders and fans. More importantly, KSP would not be what it is without the input and encouragement of our fans. With KSP available for Xbox One now, we hope that you’ll all enjoy the same wondrous experience we have!

Classic Mini NES console coming for Christmas

By Blackwalt - Posted on 14 July 2016

HDMI. 30 titles. Approx $60

Nintendo’s version seems to be pretty high quality, and plugs directly into the HDMI socket of your TV. The downside is you only get one controller and have to buy another separately – although you can use them with a Wii or Wii U, to play Virtual Console games.

Xbox Summer Ultimate Game Sale starts today

By Blackwalt - Posted on 05 July 2016

It is no Steam Sale but there are deals to be had

Someone confiscate Coxxorz's wallet.

Summer’s ultimate sale is back and running from July 5 through July 11. The Ultimate Game Sale will feature over 250 deals on Xbox titles and, for the first time ever, will include Windows 10 games and special pricing for Xbox One consoles.

Do not buy: 7 Days to Die (on consoles)

By Blackwalt - Posted on 04 July 2016

As much as I hate to do this to The Fun Pimps, do not buy (on consoles)

There is no good way to say this beyond do not buy, particularly when zombie survival games are our preferred niche. 7 Days to Die is targeted directly at our niche. Still. Do not buy.

Here is the quick reason why:

7 Days to Die is a Steam Early Access game. Clearly marked. Yet, on Xbox, it is in the regular store, released as a complete game, unmarked as an Early Access game (Game Preview in Xbox terms). 7 Days to Die, very clearly, is a game preview game. Very clearly.

This is the worst case of pay to beta test that I have seen and, worse, it is in no way fair to the original developers, The Fun Pimps.

As much as I want to buy 7 Days to Die I find it difficult purely on principle. I don't want to reward this process. I don't want to show publishers that this kind of deceptive behavior is acceptable.
