Will we see Deadpool costarring with an Oscar soon?
Adding to Ryan Reynold's Year of Deadpool, the Deadpool movie has a legitimate chance at receiving an Oscar nomination.
For Best Picture.
Um, Deadpool Could Actually Get a Best Picture Oscar Nomination
While this sounds wrong the talk did not begin with Deadpool's Golden Globe nomination for Best Musical or Comedy Film (it didn't win, boo!). It started after Deadpool won a Critics’ Choice Award and was nominated for a Writers Guild Award.
Still, no one thought a Oscar Best Picture nomination was more than a pipe dream. Until...

Everything’s under control. Situation normal
Loosely based on HoC Random Peer Pressure of the Day - 010717 and on the additional fact that my copy of Star Wars Battlefront may have arrived today and that I may be installing it.
As usual it is Graybush's fault
This excludes all those times when it was Stormblade's fault, Q-Bert's fault, and/or occasionally Coxxorz' fault

One night after our 0% experience in Ghosts
We did start our night with Ghosts along with SeanMCR but he bailed fairly quickly after our first round. Wanting something a little different Graybush and I switched to Zombie Army Trilogy. Strangely enough it was Graybush's choice.
I went down fairly often, needing Graybush to revive me each time. The video is one of the closest occurrences. We didn't quite hit zero but it was very close.

So. Funny story.
Since Star Wars Battlefront's release in November of 2015 it has been mentioned on HerdofCats many times. A list is included after the jump. A significant number of these have been by Stormblade lamenting that HoC has not jumped on the Star Wars band wagon and joined him online. We still haven't. Coxxorz' even purchased a copy at $29.99 during a summer sale and still has it safely stored in the shrink wrap.
My primary issue was the initial cost of Star Wars Battlefront. $79.99 for the game and $69.99 for the Season Pass. Expensive enough even if the internet hadn't exploded over the lack of content in the initial game release.
Then along came Graybush, late on a Friday night (yesterday) while in the middle of a round of Zombie Army Trilogy.

Graybush and Blackwalt return to Call of Duty Ghosts: Extinction
We didn't remember how to play.
Thursday night Graybush kept me up late playing Ghosts while I simultaneously watched the World Junior Hockey Gold Medal game. Now I can usually pull myself away from gaming or from watching hockey to go to bed on time but it appears I can not pull myself away from both at the same time.
We had a moment during a failed, glitched challenge that was, well, close...

HoC Random Gaming Truth of the Day - 010217
I keep hearing this from everywhere...
... yet I still haven't been tempted to buy Titanfall 2. I haven't bought Battlefield One either and I do own Titanfall 1.
But still not tempted.
Yet.

HoC Astrolog Star Date 0123116
to explore strange new worlds and perhaps glitch all over them
Okay, the glitch comment is funny but I don't want you to think this game is only glitches. It is just fair warning that this is a Game Preview game. I am still enjoying it but I have found issues. My biggest is with vehicles and joining them together in a train. Often (very often) one of the cars glitches and start jumping in place. It seems like one of the tires gets stuck in the ground and won't let go. Next to impossible to use after that and quickly gets abandoned. Along with whatever valuables it may be carrying. Future archeologists will surely puzzle over the prolific abandonment of Astroneer vehicles all over (mostly under) the planets I have settled.
But I am still playing this game and still enjoying it. This Star Log is about a funny moment I experienced with RollyC. Did I happen to mention that this game supports coop? Four player coop in fact.
