HoC Random Call of Duty of the Day - 04292016
I only cared a little until...
...I noticed that the Legacy Edition comes with a remastered version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. I seem to remember that we played that a little bit. At the time of announcement the remaster comes with the campaign and 10 multiplayer maps.
Guess I am buying the more expensive version.

Does this make me a bad parent?
For a few years now, Prof3ssorM and I have been collecting Nerf paraphernalia. A piece here, a piece there. Mainly to inflict foam hell on each other and, as often as possible, on Graybush and his brood. At Christmas, Prof3ssorM asked me if we could transform his closet into a Nerf storage facility. I looked around at options and finally decided that IKEA had the least expensive and most effective solution.
What I did not realize, until I was done, was that we had SO MUCH STUFF! I thought I had picked up enough bars and hooks to allow for the collection to grow but apparently I cannot estimate. There was still too much stuff when I was done. I will have to look into what other types of racks I could put in there to hold more stuff.
If this makes me a bad parent, I blame Graybush. He started it.

I made another thing!
So, I know this isn't strictly a video games post, but neither is a chunk of wood and I need some support. Not, "pick me up, I'm down again, where the F is the medic?!" kind of support, but some online voting help.
Meet Rig Pigs
Telus has a grant program in BC/Alberta called Storyhive. They award grants for music videos, short stories and web series. I've wanted to produce a show about Fort McMurray for some time and since I'm unemployed and can't get EI for another 3 months, I've thrown my hat into the ring.

Vermintide: Another upcoming game worth a look
Coming to Xbox One... eventually
This was recommended to me today by Opticviper. Of course, he plays on Steam where Vermintide has already been released...
It is being described as a fantasy Left 4 Dead. Four player co-op gaming set in the Warhammer universe fighting off hordes of giant rats (Skaven).
- Vermintide takes place in and around Ubersreik, a city overrun by Skaven. You will assume the role of one of five heroes, each featuring different play-styles, abilities, gear and personality. Working cooperatively, you must use their individual attributes to survive an apocalyptic invasion from the hordes of relentless rat-men, known as the Skaven. Battles will take place across a range of environments stretching from the top of the Magnus Tower to the bowels of the Under Empire.
Everything I read for Xbox One release date says First Quarter 2016. Since we are in the second quarter of 2016 I am doubting the veracity of their statement.
You can find more info on the Vermintide Official Website.
This looks like it might be worth a look
You all know what I think of GTA, so I won't rant here. Mafia 3 is described as a GTA clone, but as you'll see in the video, there are differences. I especially like the setting and the timeline. The cars look awesome!
Goodbye CR-V, goodbye
A member of the Clan longer than most of you, it was time to say goodbye
Left sitting, plateless, in the local garage's lot. It was a sad moment for me. Our 1999 CR-V had been with us since new. A long time to be with a car. I had learned it idiosyncrasies and it had learned mine. But the most recent series of noises ("hey that's new") had proven to push the repair bill and reliability past the point of practicality. Oil spraying all over the engine compartment, the constant gas smell, no horn, failing power steering and the odd clunking noise every time the four wheel drive tried to kick in. Oh and the stick - the stick whose sole purpose was to whack the starter until it worked.
Suicide Squad – Blitz Trailer
I enjoyed the trailer but I loved the music choice
Particularly Lesley Gore's You Don't Own Me covered here by Australian singer Grace and featuring G-Eazy. source
HoC Random Stick of the Day - 04122016
It's more than a stick, it's a task specific tool
So this turned out to be more than a stick. It was a percussive, re-calibration tool for the CRV starter. That this is now required is one additional reason that the CRV is being replaced. Imminently.
Please note that the starter was never actually percussively re-calibrated. The mere threat of the re-calibration tool in Coxxorz's hand was enough to get the recalcitrant starter to serve its proper purpose. Starting the damn car!
See some additional HoC humour and a photo of the stick in its natural habitat after the break.
Zombie Army Trilogy wins a sales award
I can't help it. I'm taking partial credit for this
Rebellion's Zombie Army Trilogy won a sales award from ID@Xbox and tweeted out this thank you to it's fans (and, sure, their Dev Team who I guess deserve some of the credit):
- A huge thank you to all the dev team, & everyone that has bought a copy of the game, we have this because of you!
The full embedded tweet is included after the break.
