Nintendo release System 4.0 for the Wii


The continuing story of Wii Homebrew


Finally, a significant improvement to the Wii OS: the ability to transfer all WiiWare DLC from the internal memory to a mounted SD card and support for SDHC up to 32GB. This had been the biggest weakness of the Wii - all the WiiWare had to be stored on the internal memory (512MB).


This, of course, completely seals off all known twilight hacks, and disables the softmod hacks.

The ball is now in the soft-modders camp. Will they succeed in cracking the new OS?
