Heh, whaddya know. PCs can also fail from badly cooled chipsets. A quick google for Northbridge Fan Failure reveals 51,000 hits. Make that 51,001.

What happens when the fan fails on the northbridge chipset? Funny things. The sound and i/o goes bad, bus writes gets lost. etc... Why do they insist on putting the crappiest fans in hardware.

Another adventure in homebrew - iPod Touch 2G now jailbroken

redsn0w 0.1beta review

It's beta O'clock

Jailbreaking is not  for the faint of heart. You have to be prepared for the possibility of bricking your shiny toy. Performing the operation takes about half an hour, and involves lots of cold sweat and nervous waiting. Read more

Nintendo release System 4.0 for the Wii

The continuing story of Wii Homebrew

Finally, a significant improvement to the Wii OS: the ability to transfer all WiiWare DLC from the internal memory to a mounted SD card and support for SDHC up to 32GB. This had been the biggest weakness of the Wii - all the WiiWare had to be stored on the internal memory (512MB). Read more

Got to see the shuttle launch from the front door of our hotel in Orlando.
I took a few shots of the exhaust trails - but somehow I forgot to use the movie camera.  Grrrr.

Took this one with the phone and sent it with the phone (this is a computer - free vacation for me... Well, except for the phone.)

This site may harm your computer

By Stavr0 - Posted on 31 January 2009

Funny thing happened this morning. Google broke the internets. EVERY Google search was tagging every hit as potentially harmful. I was thinking-- FINALLY, they tell it like it is.

Then it occurred to me they may not have meant it.

Of course, a few hours later, it was fixed, and of course Slashdot and every other aggregator out there was reporting on it. Read more
