Reminder: HoC Operation Father's Day Zombie Massacre
It's tonight
Random Notes:
- It is possible that the starting time of 9:00 may vary.
- We have two other confirmed attendees. So three total. It's a four player game so we need either one more or five more. I am good with either.
- Still Call of Duty Black Ops 1.
- After extensive research by a crack team lead by Q-Bert it was determined that the minimum DLC required is: Rezurrection. Which includes the four original Zombie maps from World at War ("Nacht der Untoten," "Verrückt," "Shi No Numa" and "Der Riese.") and the new map "Moon".
- For some reason Guba wanted me to stress that this is a virtual event. She also added something about our doors being locked, barred and... "armed?" Not sure what she meant by that last one. That's new.
- B.Y.O.B. Especially Graybush because that gets expensive.
Extinction Awakening: the redemption of Graybush
Yeah. So this happened.
Last night while online I stumbled upon Graybush playing Extinction: Awakening by himself. Taking pity I joined in just in time to revive him. Of course I totally blew the first challenge of 50% accuracy when I emptied a clip into a Cryptid Scouts hitting him only twice (after two clips).
For some reason Graybush restarted the game. And invited DethCon5 in to watch his back. What? It's not like I can hit it with any accuracy. I swear the new ACOG scope has decreased the accuracy of my Magnum. A total waste of two teeth.
So Graybush now has all four Extinction level Achievements (for finishing the chapters) leaving only Coxxorz at 2.1 (missing Nightfall) and DethCon5 at 3 (missing Mayday).
Extinction Mayday: all SeanMCR, no waiting
Although it did take two tries...
So sometime in the past two weeks we became determined to finish the Call of Duty Extinction mode. Yesterday we succeeded. Well... two out of four of us did.
Previously we documented our completion of Extinction: Point of Contact, Extinction: Nightfall, Extinction: Awakening and now Extinction: Mayday.
It was mentioned that while Coxxorz helped us with Nightfall, Awakening and (technically) Mayday he was absent for Nightfall. Graybush in turn helped us with Point of Contact, Nightfall and Mayday but missed Awakening.
SeanMCR and Blackwalt hope that Coxxorz and Graybush enjoy playing Extinction together because thanks but we have had enough. Good luck to you both.
Extinction Nightfall: the restraint of waiting for Coxxorz
It seemed like only yesterday when we were finishing a mission without Graybush
Back when Graybush intentionally finished Extinction: Point of Contact without me, he had accomplices. One of them may have been Coxxorz. It is possible I continued my payback against my clanmates in Extinction: Nightfall .
Last night, in only a two hour match, Graybush, DethCon5, SeanMCR and I finished the Extinction: Nightfall mission earning the achievement and swearing to never go back again. Sorry Coxxorz.
Extinction Awakening: the restraint of waiting for Graybush
I mean restraint in a totally Herd of Cats way...
Previously on this space it was discussed how Graybush dealt with Blackwalt's vacation. How he held himself back from playing Extinction and finishing Point of Contact. I was impressed by Graybush's strength of character and his willpower. We were all impressed how after not being online for two weeks he appeared each and every night Blackwalt was gone, how he played with complete strangers to learn their methods, how he honed his Extinction skills as he prepared for Blackwalt's return. AND HOW HE FINISHED THE DAMN LEVEL THE DAY BEFORE BLACKWALT GOT BACK. Some of us remember this more than others.
I have been thinking on how to reward his restraint and self control. A reward he richly deserves.
On to Extinction: Awakening with SeanMCR and Coxxorz last night. Kind of related...
Enemy Front - Launch Trailer
Cause it releases today
- Enemy Front tells the compelling story of war correspondent Robert Hawkins as he fights hand-in-hand with resistance fighters opposing the Nazi juggernaut in France, Germany, Norway and the Warsaw Uprising in Poland. The game is set against some of the European locales of World War II never before explored in a video game.
HoC Operation Father’s Day Zombie Massacre!!!!!!
It will be the Second Annual Occurrence of no one showing up!
This Sunday as a tribute to Father's everywhere be sure to show up on Xbox Live at 9:30 to kill zombies. Why? Because they are zombies!
Another reminder that this is a virtual LAN. It's not that I don't want to see you in person, it's that I don't want to see you in person.
Once again I have made a Hi-Res PDF of the poster available for download. I don;t know why either.Has anyone every downloaded any of the PDFs I have posted?
More details about the Coxxorz E3 deal posting
Or why you shouldn't ignore the COXXORZ RANDOM E3 PREORDER DEAL of the DAY
Every E3 for the past two years Coxxorz has posted about the E3 preorder deal offered by Best Buy and Future Shop. And I have promptly ignored him. It has taken me a long time to develop the ability to tune him out so I don't like not using it.
However, every fall while I am paying full price for new games and he is walking away with a 30% discount on brand new $59.99 games I end up crying alongside his gloating and mocking laughter. This year for the first time I have availed myself of the Best Buy deal and ended up saving myself $45 total off of three games (two $45 games and one $60 game).
Looking Forward To: Enemy Front
Our quorum still hasn't decided but since I missed Watch Dogs I needed to post this before it was too late
It's so unlike you guys to not respond to a request but I decided to continue without your opinions. What game is HoC looking forward to? Enemy Front.
Enemy Front revisits WW2 and releases next Tuesday June 10th. If you are quick enough it does qualify for the three game pre-order deal from Best Buy and Future Shop posted above in the Coxxorz Random E3 Preorder Deal of the Day (it brings the $45 game down to a $32 game). Just don't ask how I know...
Enemy Front is only coming to present generation consoles, Xbox 360 and PS3.
EBGames continues its campaign against gamers
Specifically its campaign of overcharging gamers
Now off the start I am admitting two things:
- I am biased against EBGames as previously covered on this site (too numerous to list)
- I still shop at EBGames (deals, inventory clearance, for Rolly and, face it, they always have everything)
But every so often they take advantage of their essential monopoly in a way that pisses me off. This time with Sniper Elite 3.
Remember in my previous story when I suggested that someone pre-order Sniper Elite 3? Do not pre-order at EBGames.
With Sniper Elite 3 Rebellion is pricing the old generation versions (Xbox 360 and PS3) at a lesser price than the new generation versions (Xbox One and PS4). MSRP is $44.99 for Xbox 360/PS3 versus $59.99 for Xbox One/PS4. EBGames has chosen to ignore the MSRP and charge $49.99 for the Xbox 360/PS3 versions because "Why not, who will notice?"
Well I will and I will mention it. Here and in person to anyone I am talking to. Although Nickie and Furball seemed more disinterested than normal.
