Counting down to the release of Saints Row IV #7
With Saints Row IV releasing on August 20th we decided to commemorate its impending release with a countdown of the Top Ten Herd of Cats's stories covering previous Saints Rows. Join us for the next ten days as we take off our shoes and socks to help us count to ten. ..."now we carry the three"...
Here is our pick for HoC Saints Row story #7. I still have this on my Saints Row 2 case:
Print your own Storm's Woe 2 DVD cover! originally posted by Blackwalt on February 25, 2009.
Due to underwhelming demand. [#5 btw]
You saw it here first. Now experience it for your very own.
Yes as a first in a series (hopefully) Herd of Cats has produced and made available your very own replacement DVD cover.
Just follow the simple instructions and replace your Saints Row 2 cover with the far more appropriate (and topical) Storm's Woe 2 cover.
Stay tuned for more fascinating developments.
Counting down to the release of Saints Row IV #8

Here is our pick for HoC Saints Row story #8. Those crazy protesters. I laugh and I laugh:
Tour of Steelport – stop #5 originally posted by Blackwalt on April 28, 2012.
Occupy Steelport!
Whatever else you might say about protesters in Saints Row the Third, they are determined.
I was flying out of one of my Saints' Headquarters in my brand spanking new S.T.A.G. VTOL plane, when I noticed these guys on the building next door.
HoC X-Com Enemy Unknown – unlucky thirteen
No one died but the news wasn't good for Cpt. Kar Loff
The research laboratory has started testing our HoC X-Com soldiers. It was only a matter of time before they started using you as guinea pigs. I totally approved of course.
To no one's surprise the report on Cpt. Kar Loff came back "No Gift."
"Really? I am shocked!" I replied to the research scientists who, no strangers to sarcasm from the military, immediately hung up.
Reading the rest of the report I had to call them back, "Major Sean MCR is gifted? Are you sure? How many time did you run the test? Can you run it again?"
Counting down to the release of Saints Row IV #9
With Saints Row IV releasing on August 20th we decided to commemorate its impending release with a countdown of the Top Ten Herd of Cats's stories covering previous Saints Rows. Join us for the next ten days as we take off our shoes and socks to help us count to ten. ..."now we carry the three"...
Here is our pick for HoC Saints Row story #9. Who knew MoriceRevek's life had a soundtrack:
The Power of Suggestion originally posted by MauriceRevek on February 24, 2009.
Here I am, at work, calmly working on converting some code from an onld application to a more modern version, when I here from cubicle neighbours headphones Europe's The Final Countdown.
I found myself suddenly thinking: Time to switch to my rocket launcher, and blow a few things up. I had to do a double take to remind myself that I was not in the Saints Row 2 world.
HoC X-Com Enemy Unknown – on the Twelve day
The HoC X-Com team experiences true tragedy
We have lost seven team members before this. Six people and one robot. None of them hit as hard as this one.
Yesterday we lost Corporal Anime Shimmer a new team sniper who we had hoped would eventually replace Colonel Blade. Alas that is not to be as Cpl. Shimmer failed to return from her fourth mission.
Lying about her age to get onto the X-Com team Cpl Shimmer quickly proved herself to be a sniper in the same mold as Colonel Blade. She missed more shots than she made. She still managed to become a team favourite and earned 4 alien kills in 4 missions.
HoC X-Com Enemy Unknown – It goes to Eleven
Stupid Union rules!
When I find out which one of you turned me in to Local Chapter #710425491474 of the X-com Union there will be hell to pay. We can't get any supplies into HoC X-Com base because not a single trucker will cross the picket line. And they're robot truckers!
Fine, here is your damn, all human team. See if I go out of my way to keep any of you alive this time.
Counting down to the release of Saints Row IV #10
With Saints Row IV releasing on August 20th we decided to commemorate its impending release with a countdown of the Top Ten Herd of Cats's stories covering previous Saints Rows. Join us for the next ten days as we take off our shoes and socks to help us count to ten. ..."now we carry the three"...
Here is our pick for HoC Saints Row story #10. The story that started it all:
So I've been thinking.... originally posted by Blackwalt on January 28, 2009.
Saint's Row 2
I know I'm not supposed to but...
I've been thinking about Saint's Row 2. It is a Grand Theft Auto knock off and we all know that GTA4 wasn't a complete favourite of HoC.
But Saint's Row 2 has developed the kind of grass roots, after release, community support and feedback that Crackdown had. The kind of feedback that made me purchase Crackdown. A purchase I will never regret. Crackdown is one of the four games I own that I has surpassed more that fifty hours of play time. A short list that includes Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Rainbow Six Vegas and Burnout Paradise. That's pretty good company.
The Apocalypse according to Black Ops 2
Is that a robot zombie or a zombie robot?
Who cares! More zombies!
- Also included is Origins, Treyarch's deepest and most imaginative Zombies experience to date. Taking place in a Dieselpunk-themed First World War, Origins reunites players with the four original Zombies heroes as they team up to fight off hordes of the undead.
Apocalypse arrives first on Xbox LIVE on August 27th
HoC X-Com Enemy Unknown – the Tenth Day
All my problems with the HoC Clan members have been solved
I would like to say "why didn't I think of this sooner" but, to be totally fair, this was Rolly's idea. That kind of genius is just a little beyond me.
And genius it is. No more poor shots, no more bitching about time in the field, who cares about promotions. No more death notices, just have Engineering whip up another one. A little bit of motor oil and off you go!
Go Team HoC Robots!
Unboxing the Xbox One
Microsoft's Major Nelson opens up a Day One Xbox One
Not much of interest other than headset now included, special day one controller and some day one codes.
PS- Larry? It's not a moment I was waiting for.
