I espacially agree with #1 and #2. Probably why most new games blow total balls and why pirating was invented.

Not to be outdone by a lowly grocery store, Dell is offering their own deal for GTA4: A special one-day price of $54.99 (Xbox 360 and PS3 versions). The sale ends at midnight, so you better move it. Of course, you probably won't get it in time for Wednesday's gaming.

For those of you suckers who didn't preorder and pick up your copy last night (free hat!), there's an acceptable deal going on now at Real Canadian Superstore: Buy Grand Theft Auto IV for $59.99, get 1400 MS points for free (with coupon from flyer).
If there's no Superstore near you, you should be able to get this deal at Loblaws too.

Last night prior to the "Big Release" Rolly and I had our own gaming adventure.

Rolly had a request in for "drive" so we booted up Burnout Paradise and tooled around the town. During this drive he collected all the action figures within range, defining range as anything the Daddy could lift him up to reach. Read more

Langston Wertz Jr., a reporter for the Charlotte Observer, has decided after not playing GTA4 that it's too sexy and should be sold only to those over 18.

"The new game, among other things, allows players to choose one of three prostitutes for various forms of sex in a car. It graphically displays simulated group sex in a strip club. The images are about in line with something you might see after midnight on certain movie channels."

What has this site become? A huge billboard for Rockstar Games?.....sad. If this was my site, I'd ban people who posted multiple GTA reivews... /ban +all

In an ironic twist of life imitating video games imitating life, many copies of GTA IV are being intercepted before reaching their destination.

From the ars technica article:
"A surprising amount of workers were getting busted stealing the game from the shipment boxes. In one 24-hour period, three workers were fired, and more interviews were scheduled for today that would likely end in termination."

GameSpy reviews Grand Theft Auto IV awarding it a 5 out of 5.

The reason the game works so well is largely due to the fact that the writing is downright excellent, from the dialogue to the story to the expertly crafted cast of characters. Niko's character arc is so compelling that this is one of those rare games that is almost as fun to sit and watch as it is to play.

See, no bias. I don't only post the 10 out of 10 scores. I hope this story is different enough to fit the criteria for a separate HoC post.

Yes, I am weak. After my late night (very) experience with Halo 2 and EBGames I swore I would never do another Midnight Game launch. Something to do with the "we only have 2 registers and only one of them can do credit card/interac at a time." Through dialup... Yes multiply that by the 100-150 people in front of me and I should have just gone home. I think it netted me a little one inch Halo 2 pin so technically it wasn't a total loss. (Yes it was)

Since all that is going to be talked about for the next couple weeks will be lame GTA 4 and hooker killing.

Another one of my trusted sites gives Grand Theft Auto IV a 10 out of 10.

...GTA IV is the 10/10 you were expecting. Almost everything you do in Liberty City would be good enough to drive its own game, and the best parts would be good enough to outrun the competition, but the reason it works so well is that Rockstar has made a game that requires no patience to play.

Claim it's "The best motherf@*&ing game we've ever played!"

TeamXbox's Grand Theft Auto IV Review (Xbox 360).

Scored a 10 with an Editor's Choice Award. The slightly positive review starts:

I won’t beat around the bush; Grand Theft Auto IV is the greatest game to come out for the Xbox 360 so far. I say that without reservation and without consideration for the planned downloadable content slated for later this year that will hopefully only add to its awesomeness. It is a true evolution for the critically and commercially successful GTA series, not just a “next-gen” polish job of the same old game.

Personally I believe that no game should get a perfect 10....
