Okay, here's the deal. Gamercards with online status work, but there's a hitch. You have to signup on MyGamerCard.net and enable the status feature yourself. It takes up to an hour to start showing on your card, but hey, it's free.

HoC Live Gamer Cards

By Stormblade - Posted on 22 January 2008

Q-Bert did a bunch of work giving options for the Live gamer cards and linked them to the Live Status link on the site and then just kinda let it die.

I was thinking it might be nice to get it finished, cause you know how busy he is. What, with all the work he's doing right now ...

Sooo, maybe we could pick what we like best and go with it so he can finish it up. Because I figure someday he'll have a job again. Maybe.

I vote for the Flash one. It's cool in a suitably geeky kind of way.

Road Hazard

Ok, this isn't the first time this has happened, and each time it does I keep meaning to mention it here, but last night I was ambushed, mugged, and otherwise attacked. Read more

Random is as Random does

A Herd of Cats opinion by Blackwalt.

Except for when it isn’t.

I am no expert on random, we need Ice for that. But I do know that Herd of Cats has the motto of Random is a Strategy. Although, admittedly, its more of a guideline.

Look at our style of play in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Now I am not saying that we play with anything resembling a strategy because we don’t. However, we do play the game to win – which is a strategy in itself. We are point whores, rank whores, and “that next weapon” whores. Our strategy is anything but random. Although sometimes it is hard to tell.

Battlefield Heroes - and it's free!

By Blackwalt - Posted on 21 January 2008

ShackNews has a story on the new Battlefield game – Battlefield Heroes.

It will have a cartoony style similar to Teamfortress 2 and will depend on in-game ads and micro-transactions for funding.

Look for more information in the next issue of Games for Windows.

That's my boy!!!

Video Games are good

Some good video game press for a change as Wired reports that this gamer used lessons learned in America's Army Medic Training to stabilize a car crash victim until help arrived.

Halo 3 for $57.99

By Coxxorz - Posted on 18 January 2008

Oh wait– did I mention it comes with Master Chief's fucking head?!!!

I don't give a rat's ass about the extras, but I have to admit I always did want to have that shiny bastard on my shelf, smiling approvingly (I think) as Karloff and I dole out free samples of Her Majesty's Finest Brew.

So if you're looking for a second copy of the game for your spare console anyway, you can grab this hot deal at Best Buy. Simply take the $79.99 Legendary Edition box (was $149) to the cash and ask them to match Future Shop's $59.99 price. You'll get it for that and 10% of the difference. And don't forget your Reward Zone card!

So grab one and get your ass online pronto... you never know when Sean Connery will make an appearance...

Where's Q-Bert?

By Stormblade - Posted on 18 January 2008

He's not at work, we all know that. In order to be at work, one has to have a job.

It's unlikely he's trying to reproduce. He's succeeded more than once, which many of us consider a minor miracle, and Pebbles is probably swatting him away ... again. Read more
