Swag's Classic Clip: The greatest movie scene ever?

By Swag - Posted on 10 March 2010

I guarantee that this will make your day, it made mine (and my day could be better). Maybe someone can find this movie (Revek might already have it), it should rank up there with Gymkata.

February 2010 Top Picks

By Blackwalt - Posted on 10 March 2010

It's hardly worth doing a Top Picks this month as February was not only a short month but a low content month. Less than four pages. Our worst showing in a long time. I blame all of us, but mostly you.

Reoccurring topics this month were the Pintsie Awards. Guess I should finish them off... it's only March.

On the outside looking in...

By Blackwalt - Posted on 08 March 2010

One of us is a moron

This seemed to be my weekend for confused Xbox Live users.

So Sunday night, despite my continuing Rogers internet problems I decided to try Call of Duty: World at War Zombies with Graybush and Stormblade.

And it was working pretty well for a while.

But toward the end of the evening I got disconnected from the party and dropped from the game. I was still on Live oddly enough, but dropped from the game.

So I reconnected to the party.

What the $%#@!!!

By Stormblade - Posted on 08 March 2010

It's been a while since I posted anything hockey related, but this rush by PK Subban (Habs defensive prospect) is so awesomely wicked I couldn't resist.

I wonder what the Leafs would do with a prospect like this. Trade him for a bag of pucks, probably.

Q-Bert: Not quite getting it...

By Blackwalt - Posted on 08 March 2010

It seemed like such a simple gaming invite

So this isn't the first time I have run into issues playing Xbox with Q-Bert but I was still surprised. I shouldn't have been, but I was.

I have been having internet connection problems since Thursday. So I haven't been on Live for a few days. Saturday night I decided to play the single player campaign on my new $22.50 copy of Wolfenstein. When I signed in, my Xbox surprisingly connected to Live and showed me that Q-Bert and Moricerevek were playing Borderlands. I figured I was safer staying offline.

I'm never washing it. Ever.

Some things are just impossible to turn down

I have always thought that the Xbox Live Avatar Marketplace was a waste of good MS points. I even went as far as mocking Stormblade over his purchase of a complete Assassin's Creed 2 outfit.

Sadly, no more.

Ubisoft Draconion DRM - 0, Ubisoft Game owners - also 0

By Blackwalt - Posted on 07 March 2010

Sorry, did you want to play that?

So the Ubisoft's DRM authentication servers are down. Guess what that means for PC Assassin's Creed 2 players? That's right. No assassinations for you.

Creating the Pink Menace™ comic book cover

By Blackwalt - Posted on 05 March 2010

You all remember the First Edition Cover of The Pink Menace™ published in January?

Right here on Herd of Cats?

Of course you do.

Well I thought it would be interesting (and generate content) to walk through the process that went into the creation of the final comic book cover. And maybe inspire some of you to generate any kind of content. Seriously... any.

Activision vs Infinity Ward

By Blackwalt - Posted on 03 March 2010

Holy xxxx!! Has anyone else been following this?

So Activision filed a SEC violation against Infinity Ward. Activision also dismissed the top two staffers at Infinity Ward. Oh, and Activision sent a ton of Security Guard/bouncer types to the Infinity Ward offices and closed them down.

Connect this with: Call of Duty being one of only three franchises that make up 98% of Activision's revenue (World of Warcraft and Guitar Hero). Activision handing over development of Call of Duty franchises to other developers. Activision wanting to release a Call of Duty title yearly.

Oh, and Activision has yet to pay any royalties to Infinity Ward for Modern Warfare 2. I guess it didn't make any money.

My take? With my best effort at not getting sued?

If for any reason Infinity Ward is forced goes under, the rights to Call of Duty would be Activision's for the taking.

But I am sure that is a coincidence.
