September 2009 Top Picks
Wow! More than six pages (slightly) for September which is a full 15 stories higher than our usual. Pretty good guys, try to keep it up. Borderlands, the Second Year Stories, "The Official Herd of Cats 2nd Anniversary / Site Redesign / Save-the-Mascot / Just Because... Contest," our site redesign and "not" Coxxorz' Bargain corner seemed to be the topics of the month.
Top September Stories by Read count:
- 463 reads – The Official Herd of Cats 2nd Anniversary / Site Redesign / Save-the-Mascot / Just Because... Contest
- 267 reads – Installing Snow Leopard, an adventure
- 238 reads – Techie Blag - External Storage for SciAtl 8300HD PVR
Our read numbers were up this month. Techie stuff with Stavr0 and Q-Bert and the HoC Arkham Asylum contest took the top three spots. Swag was eventually the winner btw. Mainly because Coxxorz disqualified me from winning and I then retaliated by disqualifying him. It got ugly from there. UGLY! Security may have been called. Restraining orders may have been issued. 50 feet. Pffhhht! I can yell loudly enough to cover that distance, but I'll have to practice my throwing arm.

Nintendo voted "World's best company"
Its been a while since I posted one of these.
But you read correctly, Nintendo is The World's Best Company, beating out apple and google.
They "ranked companies by not only their sales, market cap, and value, but also more abstract traits like a focus on innovation, strong leadership, and a clear vision for the future." Something that Microsoft and Sony lack, although it is somewhat better with their piggybacking of motion controller schemes from Nintendo. Read more
Now this is the type of thing that should be a video game
Francis when asked for a comment, stated "I hate Lego"
Lego Left 4 Dead. It's the perfect video game license.
More at Sabre-Scorpion's Lair. Originally spotted at Gearfuse.
Kinda Surprised
That no one has even mentioned this: http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/zombieapocalypse/review.html?om_a...
On here yet.
Weird
CoD: Modern Warfare 2 Night Vision Goggles made in cheap Chinese factory!
So close to almost being a story
PS3-Sense reports on the Chinese Factory manufacturing the MW2 Night Vision Goggles. Please note that this is a translated website.
Turtle Beach introduces the Ear Force XLC
Turtle Beach! Far away in time!
I was going to post this eventually but since Swag pressured me here it is now.
Modern Warfare 2 spotted on Live
This is legit
What this means:
- ...the game has been moved from PartnerNet (Official Dev Network) and put onto the actual Xbox Live network and is now being played internally by employees of Infinity Ward. Like we said, this is usually an indication of a game starting the MS certification process.
Full story and map list at WePlayCoD.
Coxxorz's Bargain Corner - 10032009
What the hell is wrong with Coxxorz? Someone poke him awake.
Since I was at ToysRus anyway (see previous story), I managed to wander into the electronics section where they were advertising a sale on everything. Well no, but more than I expected. I was surprised to find a decent sale on Xbox 360 Accessories. And I don't just mean the Xbox Remote for $24.98 (from $29.99).
List:
Swag's Classic Clip: Carl Sagan - 'A Glorious Dawn' ft Stephen Hawking
Yeah, it was on /. but it's still worth posting on here. Someone used a vocoder (auto-tune) and samples of Carl Sagan's Cosmos series to make what is a pretty cool song.
Hopefully everyone knows who Carl Sagan is.
No, we're not
This came out of last night's Left 4 Dead experience. I originally had Moricerevek in Graybush's spot cause it was funnier, but Moricerevek wasn't actually there.
Greybush was there and boy can he wander. We never knew where he was.
Borderlands: Claptrap Web Series Episode 2
I liked the first one better but this one's still funny
Stay tuned to the last bit for Randy Pitchford's credit.
