Covering all the bases
The indecision of Stormblade
So I received a Amazon shipping box today. Addressed to me but with no sender info. Now earlier this week Stormblade had mentioned to me that I was getting a package from him and made me promise "not to open it!" (until my birthday which is sometime soon) So, yes, I promised to be good(ish).
But with no sender information how was I to know that this box was from him? Sure the odds were good but it could be from some random stranger. It could be!
I will admit that it is most likely from Stormblade and as such I will stick to my promise (for now). Fortunately for my weak will, however, this box had substantial openings at either end and while I had promised not to open the box, no one said anything about peeking into the box. What a convenient loophole. And as an added bonus I could also fit my hands into the box and nobody said anything about feeling around inside the box!
XBox 360 Core to Blackwalt - "Screw you... again!"
This time it's MoriceRevek's fault
So the latest step in Revek's campaign to make sure I never loan him anything again my Xbox 360 Core system, recently returned from a weekend visit with Revek and his cousin, has stopped reading DVD and game disks. And it doesn't read them in a very loud manner.
The latest twist (see picture) happened in the most recent attempt to convince it to play GRID, apparently it thinks its a Wii. While I am not sure what Legen sie diese Disk zum Abspielen in eine Xbox 360 Konsole ein means I am fairly sure its similar to "You're screwed, send us (Microsoft) even more money." And yes, I am probably going to. Sometimes I hate myself. And sometimes I hate MoriceRevek.
Pirate ships aren't supposed to be pink!
So Guba fixed it
While I did update the Operation Petticoat post with a couple of photos yesterday, I am adding them here with a couple more of the finished (first) coat of paint.
Time for an upgrade – #10188
Out with the old and broken
In with the new hotness.
While my original Lego Death Star was the perfect 40th birthday gift it is obvious I have to start saving my pennies for the newer diorama model. Includes 25 heroes, villains, droids and creatures!
"Hello, Lego Marion"
"Lego Indiana Jones. I always knew some day you'd come walking back through my door."
Well, surprisingly in my goodie stash for Father's Day I received an Xbox 360 game – LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures.
But the best gift for Father's Day was not the Xbox game itself but the four plus hours I spent playing it co-op with Guba.
Lego Marion, "Well, Jones, at least you haven't forgotten how to show a lady a good time."
Altair's progress so far
As some of you know, I arranged to have Assassin's Creed for my day off
Altair's adventures went like this...
Finished the tutorial and entered the main game. Woo hoo, 20g of achievements. What's next?
- Altair! Clean the bathrooms!
Wow, that was pretty immersive, sounded like it was coming from upstairs. Wonder if there is an achievement for this?
- Altair!
...Altair stealthily climbs the stairs to wipe out some bathroom fungus.
Hell froze over
I'm just saying
Snuffy D finally returned my copy of Viva Piñata. After aborted attempts at returning just the case and, separately, just the DVD I got both the Case and DVD simultaneously returned this morning.
The note from Mrs. Snuffy D may have been connected:
- Blackwalt, do you mean Snuffy D never returned it to you guys??? I haven't played it since October!
I will personally beat Snuffy until he tells me where it is, dig through the boxes and return it to you ASAP!
I am so sorry about that!

The GTA4 monologues #1
I am confused by Stormblade who complains about how poor the game is but just rocked in Cops and Robbers last night. He not only got the sole kill as a robber (shooting a cop on the freeway in a moving car from a moving car) he also won the cop side by running over the robber's leader in his cop car before Coxxorz and I even found our own rides.
Finally updated my Xbox 360 front
I use a Nyko Gameface 360 to personalize my Xbox 360. And it works pretty well although I don't use any of their software to create my faceplates.
Here is the new one:
You'll have to guess what game its themed after.
Young boy treed by wild birds
Father narrowly escapes
Well, in my defense, I had to sneak away to get the camera so that I could blog this...
Yes as Rolly and I were playing in his new play structure we heard a tremendously loud flurry, a thundering flutter of seemingly thousands of wings as we were descended upon by a flock of wild birds in a scene not unlike Alfred Hitchcock's Birds. "AIIIIEEEEE" screamed Rolly jumping the rest of the way up ladder into the safety of his father's arms. His father gasped in surprise at the nearness of this bird encounter and slowly peered around his son to see what visions of horror had invaded his backyard.
Ultimate battle across the Multi-Verse
Last night prior to the "Big Release" Rolly and I had our own gaming adventure.
Rolly had a request in for "drive" so we booted up Burnout Paradise and tooled around the town. During this drive he collected all the action figures within range, defining range as anything the Daddy could lift him up to reach. Read more
