By SeanmcR6 - Posted on 18 September 2011

So I've posted a short video "resume" of my recent work...as I'm beginning to agressively apply for jobs back home.

I'd love some feedback.

NOTE...there is nothing really NSFW in the vid, but there are some bikini babes.

HoC experiences Dead Island: the continuing saga

By Blackwalt - Posted on 18 September 2011

Yet another pants optional post. I'll let you guess.

So I am Level 30 and 70% done the main quest. I am travelling back in the maps to finish off optional quests now to delay continuing the main game.

Single player seems to be dragging a little. If only there was a multi-player option...

CRTC tells Rogers to stop throttling online games

By Coxxorz - Posted on 17 September 2011

After recently admitting that they may "inadvertently" be throttling the network traffic of online gamers, Rogers Communications Inc. has to answer to the Canadian Radio-television Telecommunications Commission.

According to the CRTC policy, any noticeable degradation of time-sensitive Internet traffic requires prior commission approval under Canada's Telecommunications Act. And in a rare display of spinal fortitude, has given Rogers less than 2 weeks to explain what they're going to do about it.

I'm making a note here: Huge success.

Portal is free on Steam, get yours before September 20.

It's still the same game from '07, but with Achievements, and a new ending. Oh, and a Mac version too.

Kotaku reviews Dead Island

By Blackwalt - Posted on 17 September 2011

I read a lot of reviews – this one matches my experience

Strangely, he hasn't played multi-player either...

I didn't play Dead Island as much as I survived it. That's not a dig. I love this game. It's got its teeth sunk deep into me and won't let go. In fact, in the middle of preparing to write this review ( a process that involves wasting lots of time not writing a review) I decided I better go play some more just to make sure I hadn't missed anything.

Dead Island: The Kotaku Review Which is absurd.

Of course I missed things. Dead Island is an unbelievably large playground of hunting zombies, zombies hunting you, scavenging, making weapons, finding survivors, unraveling not just one plot but many stories and exploring a resort, a jungle, a sizable city and elsewhere.

Black Friday: the wrong Black

By Blackwalt - Posted on 16 September 2011

This week: the wrong Black

I didn't forget. I didn't. I was just... delayed. Yeah, that's it delayed. And those of you accusing me of posting this in my pajamas. Well... maybe.

Why oh why do we love zombies?

IGN Asks the question to top developers of zombie games. Here is their answer.

Personally, it's because they remind me of Q-Bert.

40% Off at Blockbusters South Keys!

By MauriceRevek - Posted on 16 September 2011

Went back today to see if they dropped the prices further, and low and behold! They have!

Picked up a new copy of two worlds II this time, as the one I refused was still for sale. As was MUA2, but even at 40% was not worth it. They did have about 600 copies of various fighting games (wrestling, mms, Tiger Woods Golf).

I saw copies of Thor Blue Ray at the check out, put they .arked them at full retail minus 40%, which was not much of a deal considering most stores were already selling it at a discount.

Blockbuster South Keys still closing!

By Coxxorz - Posted on 16 September 2011

But a little birdie told me that their movie/candy prices will be cut to 40% OFF as of store opening on Friday (noon at most locations). No word on the price of video games. It will probably be 25% off, but there is a chance... a slim chance, that they will be 40$ off too?

I'll race ya!

Gears of War 3 T-Shirts not guaranteed

By Coxxorz - Posted on 15 September 2011

The exciting Gears of War 3 news for gamers continued today, with Future Shop parent company Best Buy Canada announcing special midnight openings... at a total of 20 stores nationwide. Ottawa residents were rejoicing with the news that their fair city was one of those blessed with midnight... openness. At one lucky store. Suffice it to say that it's not the one near you.

Dead Island ships a ton of copies

By Blackwalt - Posted on 15 September 2011

But Coxxorz still can't find one

Good news for Dead Island. They have shipped over a million copies in North America and are following it up with an additional million copies. I am still addicted to it and, again, recommend it to any one here who has the slightest interest in it. It's well worth it.

Dead Island publisher Deep Silver must be stoked, having gone from relative obscurity to successful worldwide game publisher in the span of just one week. It seems that the company's latest release -- the much ballyhoo'd Dead Island -- has already shipped 1 million units to retail in the US, and the publisher expects to have moved 2 million units to retail worldwide by the end of its second week on shelves (that's this Sunday, folks).
