True love
I saw something similar to this online and it immediately transmogrified itself around Graybush.
HoC experiences Dead Island: two days in
Okay so I know some of you had issues with yesterday's reporting on Dead Island so let's deal with your concerns right away. I am wearing pants. Pajama pants, but I am wearing them.
I am enjoying Dead Island but I am having issues with recommending it right away.
The simplest way I can think of to describe Dead Island is as an RPG-Action game. We have played and enjoyed a lot of games that have been considered Action-RPGs but this is a little more reversed. The RPG elements of this game are very strong. I can see Stormblade and Swag liking these aspects. Fans of Fallout, Mass Effect and Dragon Age.
Dead Island is all about killing zombies, quests and exploration.
HoC Zombie Mode Tip of the Day: the Hacker III
Recently we have spent a lot of time in the new Call of Duty Black Ops Rezurrection, The Moon map. Why shouldn't you benefit from our "educational" experience.
- Today we learn more about the Hacker. Most of our Hacker information came through SeanMCR.
- you can hack each other! Hacking another player transfers $500 of your money to them. You need a minimum of $500 to be able to hack another player. This isn't as bad as it sounds.
- if you hang on to the Hacker for an entire level – from start to finish – you get $500 to start the next level. This amount goes up the longer you hang onto it. For two levels, $1,000, for three levels, $1,500, up to $2,500 a level. The one time we tested this I ended up with about $20,000 more than the next player. So it works. And yes. I transferred a lot of that money to other players. I'm all about the team
The Hacker is a great source of funds and of transferring funds
Pre-Order Mania!
We seem to be coming up on a wave of major new game releases this season, so what better time to create a regular feature to make sense of all the preorder offers out there? None! There is none better time. Let's start the ball rolling with Gears of War 3!
Stormblade's deal of the year
Don't get excited, it's not because it is such a great deal. It's because I don't do this more than once a year because I can't be bothered chasing down deals. If they hit me in the face, I can report it, that's all.
So anyway, Costco is selling a bunch of XBox games, A year old and older (i.e. Mass Effect 2, Assassin's Creed 2) for $18.99. They also have this week a $4 off coupon.
There you go.
New HoC high for the Moon: Level 16
Just to prove I haven't forgotten Call of Duty Zombie Mode
Seriously, that's a 16. Four damn photos and all of them out of focus.
HoC experiences Dead Island: Release Day
Off to a slow start
Update, 1:36: Have game. Installing to hard drive. Two seperate codes to punch in with Special Edition – The Ripper (weapon) and Bloodbath Arena (DLC). Our EBGames guy claimed that they only had SE versions for pre-orders. Everyone else got a regular edition. As I saw him sell a regular edition to the guy in front of me I will accept what he said as truth. Plus we know him.
––––––––––––
I don't actually have the game yet, so really, nothing to report. Maybe later.
The whole family got off to a slow start today but Rolly is off to school (first day) and Guba is off to work. I'm thinking of crawling out of bed and doing something. Well, I'm thinking about it...
I'm also thinking of showering, shaving and getting dressed. In no particular order. Although it's kind of cold here in the basement in my skivvies. And I'm only saying I'm wearing skivvies to stop horrible images from forming in your minds. Oops, sorry, too late.
Not to make you think I've done nothing so far. I managed to get to my computer long enough to download the Official Dead Island Map App but I haven't installed it yet.
I'm thinking I may want to wait until after I have picked up the game...
From Tim Cook
From Tim Cook's Google+ feed (if it is really him)
We have finally figured out why so many of our employees have forgotten or lost their iPhone prototypes in bars.
It is because they have had one too many mactinis.
I wonder if this is a lame attempt at being funny. To cause him to be accepted.
HoC Zombie Mode Tip of the Day: the Hacker II
Recently we have spent a lot of time in the new Call of Duty Black Ops Rezurrection, The Moon map. Why shouldn't you benefit from our "educational" experience.
- Today we learn more about the Hacker. Most of our Hacker information came through SeanMCR:
- the Hacker allows a player to 'hack' open any door for $200
- if the Hacker is available in the first floor of the lab it can be used to open up to four $1000 doors. $200 each.
- Hacking a door takes a while. Make sure you have someone you trust watching your back. I, personally, couldn't find anyone...
Taking one for the team: co-operative Zombie style
So is it time for a change from Call of Duty Zombie mode? Blackwalt finds out
Temporarily, Graybush, temporarily.
Back in March of this year a trailer took the (gaming) internet by storm. Even we published it – Dead Island Trailer
- Even though the trailer doesn’t feature any gameplay footage, we were able to get some first details on what to expect from the game, which is being developed by Techland Studios (Nail’d, Call of Juarez games). - Planet Xbox
This, of course, was the trailer for a new four player co-operative zombie survival game Dead Island. With RPG elements. Who knows. It could even be good. For a Left 4 Dead clone that is.
HoC Zombie Mode Tip of the Day: the Hacker
Recently we have spent a lot of time in the new Call of Duty Black Ops Rezurrection, The Moon map. Why shouldn't you benefit from our "educational" experience.
- Today we learn about the Hacker. Most of our Hacker information came through SeanMCR:
- the Hacker is a device that allows you to hack various items around the Moon map
- the Hacker takes the place of your "equipment" which is usually your P.E.S. This means you can only use it in areas which contain atmosphere. Yes this relates to a previous tip of the day.
Touring the Catwalk of Hope and Love
Last night we started a Zombie Tour
It stalled on Black Ops Der Riese. I wish I could say this was the first time we've stayed up past 1:00 AM playing Der Riese but I can't.
So SammyD4 is new to Zombie Mode. With all the old Modes available in Black Ops we decided to give him a tour of Zombie Mode.
HoC Zombie Mode Tip of the Day: Earth
Recently we have spent a lot of time in the new Call of Duty BlackOps Rezurrection, The Moon map. Why shouldn't you benefit from our "educational" experience.
- Returning to Earth:
- To go back to Earth for Pack-a-punch the entire team has to jump on the teleporter above the pyramid
- The teleporter is located at the back of the construction area or through a door ($1000) located at the back of the Bio-dome.
Rezurrection, The Moon, Level 14, again
This time with four players
So we have previously reached Level 14 but that was with two players.
This is the HoC high for four players.
Not to disparage SeanMCR or Stormblade in any way but this was with Coxxorz (Coxxorz!) and SammyD4 (a new player to Zombie mode). Let's just say that we have not had the same level of success with SeanMCR and Stormblade. There is still time, I guess.
Once Coxxorz discovered the flying pads in the Bio-dome we never saw him again. "It's a bird! It's a plane! It's...
Well no, it's not.
