Xbox Messenger Live kit $60

By Coxxorz - Posted on 01 May 2009

Just in case somebody still needs an Xbox Live Gold subscription, and didn't renew using any of the last kabillion offers posted on this site, here is one more for the record: the Xbox Live 12-month messenger Gold Pack for $59.99 at Future Shop.

The 12 months card is actually 12+1 (hint: 13) months of Live, and the kit also comes with PGR4 (coaster) and the "Messenger Chatpad". Read more

Zombie Swamp!!!!

By Blackwalt - Posted on 30 April 2009

Not at all related to Call of Duty. Not at all related to Call of Duty.YES!!!! More Call of Duty Zombie goodness

Activision and Treyarch have announced the upcoming release of the Call of Duty(R): World at War Map Pack 2.

Available this June the new content will contain ...yadda, yadda, yadda, who cares... and one new zombie map!

In "Shi No Numa" (Zombie Swamp), Imperial Zombies rise from misty swamps in an all new co-op experience, with a level that features a mix of traps, flaming Hell Hounds, Perk machines and the deadly, new Wunderwaffe DG-2

Hell hounds! I can hardly wait.

Oh, and it will probably be overpriced for a single map but I'll still pay. I'll pay, I tell you, I'll pay. Mmmmm... Zombie goodness...

The full press release is available for your perusal.

No service

This may be related to Call of Duty Zombie mode. Again.

More of the same?

Hell no!

Since everybody apparently hated the new Left 4 Dead content, I guess we're back to our retro kick. So if you've got GRAW1, today is your lucky day! But if you don't, just be the first one online and you get to pick the game to be played.

NOTE: Starting next week, we're switching HoC Nite to Thursdays for the month of May. Who knows, maybe more than the usual 4 people will be online. Read more

Tick Tick Tick Tick.......Where's it coming from??

By fungster88 - Posted on 29 April 2009

Usually, I read/check HoC site for entertainment once a day. I open the browser tab and then minimize it afterward. A headphone is always plugged in to the PC since I am at work and volume is not too high.

This morning, I saw the new "Stormsday Clock" but I wasn't aware it also has SOUND effect too! Read more

Stormblade's Odyssey

By Stormblade - Posted on 29 April 2009

This is not my carThis is not my car(With deepest apologies to Homer)

And lo, there stood Stormblade, on the plain below the mighty mountains of rock. The Boulderites had been conquered, their city in flames (with a little help from the Orkians, who took revenge for the desecration that had been Mork and Mindy).

‘It is time’, said he. ‘I must undertake the perilous journey to return to my home. My enemies are vanquished, my demons bested, and my XBox is packed. I must make haste towards my destiny.’ Read more

10 technologies inspired by Star Trek

By Stormblade - Posted on 29 April 2009

Should have been on the list.Should have been on the list. With the new ST movie coming out shortly, there have been a bunch of nostalgic Trekkie postings recently. I particularly enjoyed This one since it makes clear the impact of science fiction on the real world. For the most part, if Man (or Woman) can imagine it, it can happen.

Out of the gutter everyone ...

The only thing missing from the list as far as I'm concerned is the designing of the female yoeman's uniform. That was a real gift to mankind.

The Last Party Before Chewbacca Comes Back to Canada

We're gonna watch a little "Outpost" and kill some Zombies HoC style. It's this Friday, as the sun goes down and the undead come out to play.

I've got decent space but a rough head count would be handy so let me know even if it's just a maybe. As usual, bring your own gear but I know people with extra bits so if loaners are needed we'll figure it out.

Purely a coincidence

With a tagline like "You can't kill what's already dead" it has to be goodWith a tagline like "You can't kill what's already dead" it has to be goodSo last Friday I found out about a cult horror film called Outpost starring Ray Stevenson. It was a film about soldiers holding off waves of Nazi Zombies. Something we would know nothing about. I posted this find almost immediately upon discovery at Fri, 04/24/2009 - 13:33.

Now Coxxorz and I normally go out on a coffee run between 2:30 and 3:00 in the afternoon.

Before I met up with him I started searching online for a copy of Outpost figuring I would order it and it would arrive sometime this week.

Future Shop: $18.99, out of stock. Best Buy: $19.99, out of stock. Rogers, limited availability. Hmmm... seems popular, am I sure I have the right film?

Far... far... far... far... far... away...

...and maybe a little out there.

The HoC assignations became pretty much random at one point with only vague connections.

Kudos and maybe a small prize to whomever guesses the actual characters. Clone Wars characters may be involved.

This originally began as a side project between Rolly and I.

Update: briefly pulled for a quick change (fix).

This seems familiar...

By Blackwalt - Posted on 24 April 2009

Almost like I've lived it... often

Outpost is a low budget British horror film.

Something about Nazis experiment on human corpses and soldiers having to fight them off. Not really that familiar I guess.

A trailer and 4 minutes of the film available after the "read more".

X-Nerds

By Stormblade - Posted on 24 April 2009

This is too funny.

I think we could add the Revekinator to this group. Special power - ability to sound like Mickey Mouse on demand.

UPDATE - It got added to Digg, so it may take a while to load or time out periodically.
