Revek getting creative

Revek found a way to get past the witch unscathed and get lucky at the same time.

Quite creative, there must be an achievement for this.

Coxxorz knows his target audience

So coming in on Monday I had three funny stories to share: one here, MoriceRevek blew number two, and here is number three.

So there we were playing Rock Band 2 again. Stormblade on Drums, Guba on bass, and Blackwalt (me, btw) on guitar. And we were rocking to say the least.

So we took a break between sets to get drinks, recycle drinks and, apparently, to do laundry.

After returning to my Xbox Guba and I sat quietly waiting for the return of Stormblade.

Now I really want that iPod touch

By Blackwalt - Posted on 20 January 2009

One ticket to Boulder, Colorado please.

No reason.

Now this is using your iPod Touch for something practical. I think. Kind of. In a sick way.

It is in development for the US Army so theoretically it is legitimate.

I know if I ever get an iPod Touch I will be buying this app just to keep Stormblade guessing.

Morice Revek’s Book Review – HOC Style

By MauriceRevek - Posted on 19 January 2009

As all of you know, our illustrious companion Stormblade has written a fantasy novel: The Emperor’s Opal - From the Journals of Preston Black – Volume 1. Well, I have finally finished the copy which I was able to purchase at a discount (thank God), even though my copy was ruined by somebody writing something in the cover. Now I will never be able to pawn it off for something useful, like a new scooper for my cats litter box. Maybe if I punch a bunch of holes through the cover of the book, it will make a suitable substitute.

All joking aside, the book is actually quite entertaining, and, for a first time novelist, well written. I am looking forward to the next instalment, should he ever decide to do one and if we have not traumatised him too much from our abuse." Read more

Things you don't really want to hear from your three-year-old

Saturday Night's alright for...

...Rock band 2?

Rockem Sockem: “Anybody who says they don't like Rock Band 2 in the NHL have to be out of their minds.”Rockem Sockem: “Anybody who says they don't like Rock Band 2 in the NHL have to be out of their minds.”Last Saturday's Hockey Night in Canada was the Montreal Canadiens versus the Ottawa Senators. Stormblade's favourite versus Guba's favourite.

Knowing that Stormblade's copy of Rock Band 2 had arrived and that he was aware of Guba's minor fanaticism with Rock Band 2 I sent him an email around 5 PM. "Guba Says! Rock Band 2 at 7:00," knowing this would set him off and put him in direct conflict with Guba. My evil sense of humor at work.

After starting this plot in motion I then went and informed Guba of what we had just done.

Email back from Stormblade, "Umm.... Habs/Sens?"

Response to Stormblade, "GUBA SAYS!!!!!!!"

Email back from Stormblade, "Gulp... okay..."

Although I assume the free shipping offer doesn't apply to Canada.

Amazon Linkage

Amazon.ca doesn't seem to be matching that price.

Someone wake up Coxxorz. How did he miss this? It beats traveling to Wal-Mart.

Game and tv characters with the same voices

By Swag - Posted on 18 January 2009

You'll never look at Bender the same again:

(Common voice: John Di Maggio)

Another notable one is Andrew Ryan (from Bioshock) and Quark (from Star Trek: DS9), both voiced by Armin Shimerman.

It didn't help

New guitar, same lack of talent

Now I had hoped that the new guitar and the switch to the proper frets would go well. It didn't.

It went poorly.

Mind you, I was trying an additional change based on IGN's strategy guide:

Your pointer finger may instinctively head for the green button, but you must resist that temptation! Ideally, your four fingers will be placed like so: pointer on the red, middle on the yellow, ring on the blue, and pinkie on the orange. To hit the green notes, you'll slide your pointer upward on the fret board, and return it to the red button afterward.

What's the best selling game of the year (in the US)?

By Swag - Posted on 15 January 2009

Wii play.

That's right, a controller with a bunch of (from what I have played and seen) crappy mini games.

Some will argue that it's not a game at all. But it's still number 1.

Also note that most of the games are for the Wii, and Mario Kart DS (sitting at #10) has been out for over three years. Where's Halo3 after only a little over a year? Gone. That's because it only has a initial sales spike, then nobody buys it.
