Mac'ing on a budget

It might seem odd that I was looking for an Apple Mighty Mouse for the Mac Mini (G4) that I picked up cheap.

But truthfully, I wasn't. Really. But...

So I am in Future Shop with Hardw00d and Coxxorz and Hardw00d is negotiating a new iMac. On the shelf in the Mac accessories section in a wired Mighty Mouse in a plastic bag. So I look at it. $14.97 with a full warranty. Hmmm.... not bad. No manual or box but who needs those.

I got booted out day before yesterday and couldn't get back on for the rest of the night... yesterday there were a number of games with pretty bad lag - maybe it's not "kids with walmart internet connections" after all...

So, having lost all of Monday to the XBox Live 'Upgrade', several of us got to experience the new 'features' last night. COD4 had all sorts of issues. Bad lag, booted from parties, booted from games, etc. until the point where Live just went down completely.

Nice to see Microsoft is as accomplished with its Live updates as it is with Windows updates.
