Google buying Valve???
Only a rumor so far...
The Inquirer has a report.
If they screw up Left 4 Dead I'm going to have to boycott google! I certainly hope there are other search engines out there...
Linux Console
I think that the Linux Community needs to unite, form Devastator, and create the greatest of all console systems for the next gen.
Someone should do a mock up of how it would look.
Best... iPod engraving... ever.
There are surprisingly few funny iPod engravings out there, or at least Apple thinks so. Here's a list of messages entered on Apple's online store that have been rejected. Some of the good ones:
• 10,000 Stolen Tunes Inside
• I cost more than three hookers
• WARNING: contains Yanni box set

The perfect lap cat moves on
She went out the way she lived. Sitting on our laps.
She came into our live at 8 years old and started with us as a grumpy kitty. She never totally grew out of the grumpy but she was always friendly with family. She didn't like kids yet she loved Roland. She slept with him and constantly joined him on the red reading chairs.
She always looked serene and dignified until someone threw her a ball. They were her kryptonite and turned her into a kitten. A very lively kitten as she chased the ball around the room or batted it back down the stairs at you. Her favourite game was to stand at the top of the stairs and whack balls back at you. She was a bit of a ball hog but more of them got returned than you would expect.
August's Top Picks
I've been meaning to do this for a while but kept forgetting at the month's changeover. Screw it! I don't care that we are two weeks in already. Here you go:
- 141 reads - Battlefield: Bad Company and weapon unlocks
- 91 reads - Lan Aftermath: We all suck.
- 74 reads - With friends like these ...
I am not sure how accurate the read count is but was impressed that you had to pass 70 reads to get into the top three.

Seriously dude. Awesome!!!
Wired has a review of a seriously awesome modification to the Novint Falcon force feedback game controller. I want. Even though it is hideously expensive.
Maybe I'll wait until Q-Bert "borrows" the one MoriceRevek buys and then "borrow" it from him. It's important to have plausible deniability.
UPDATE: Novint has a video!
- With the pistol grip coming dangerously close to flying out of your hands after a few quick bursts with a submachine gun, you may wonder how you got along without this level of feedback in the first place. Every weapon takes on new life, from the meager jostling of the standard pistol, to the forceful thunder of a rocket launcher's blast.
The more I see it, the more I am amazed.
(For Blackwalt's sake I've made this a new blog)

I absolutely fail to comprehend how you guys can, time and time again, continue to contribute and support Microsoft’s Xbox 360. How much extra money have you spent repairing your Xbox 360s? Even more important is the shear amount of time lost having to wait to get it repaired. Read more
