... It's Alive!! ...
Yes, I have been out of action the last couple of weeks as my personal and professional lives have been simultaneously imploding. I am slowly regaining the urge to kill things again. Unfortunately, I have now been away from Halo 3 long enough that the modicum of competitiveness I once had is gone. I am sure I will just be cannon fodder (see Q-Bert).
Anyway, I will be back online tonight and ready to die ... er, kill.
Life imitates Xbox 360 – Rainbow Six Vegas
**Update**: Sensationalism is still alive and well. Not surprising when you consider where I work. Security reports: stolen car, plain clothes cops, the police report "no gun".
In all seriousness.
SWAT has just pursued and taken down an armed gunman in our lobby and parking lot.
Complete with running screaming bystanders, a stolen car and a chase.
True to my HoC camping style. I stayed(hid) in my office until it was over...
This was way better than last year's car bomb
Blackwalt 4, Cozzorz 3
Red vs. Blue, the Herd of Cats way – by accident.
Last night with a two man Halo 3 party of Coxxorz and myself we got separated by the automatic matchmaking. We didn't realize it immediately but entered into the 8 vs 8 Team Slayer on opposite teams. Coxxorz Blue, Blackwalt Red. Read more

Woot!!! More GRAW 2 co-op
Computer and Videogames announced an upcoming release of downloadable content for Graw2. The GRAW 2 Co-Op Collection will be available on Xbox Live late next month.
- The pack includes five brand new campaign missions continuing the story from GRAW 2 and nine adversarial maps for online play. Seven of those nine are remakes from Ghost Recons past (Caves, Railroad Bridge, Battlefield, Plantation, Swamp Airfield, Prison and Castle), leaving two that are totally new (Business Park and Rooftop).
The age old debate begins again...
Xbox video games vs Education fund. With $165.0486850176726614176093708922016 to spend, what to do becomes a great debate.
"Daddy, Daddy, I need to be edumacated!"
"No, no, no, lots of time for that. Give me my money, I need to play Orange Box and PGR4."

National Car Rental - Redux
OK National Car rental has annoyed me again.
What did they do this time? Well this time the agreed to reverse the credit card payment they had made on the bogus tire changing charge.
Worse yet the lady on other end of the phone was polite and seemed pleasant, I didn't even have to raise my voice.
So why does this piss me off? Well how else can I be an cutting edge blog if I don't have an antagonist. First I had the mad Monkey Breeding scientist, then I thought I had National Car. Read more

Attention eBay shoppers!
I've been a member of Great Canadian Rebates for a little while now, but just recently discovered that you can save on eBay auctions as well. In addition to special coupons and offers (e.g. free shipping) at lots of online retailers, you can also earn rebates on your purchase. The eBay offer is for 30% cash back on their revenue from the auction (i.e. listing fees, not the auction price), which can add up if you're foolish enough to buy big-ticket electronics on there. That chintzy bastard screwed me over!
Yes we all knew that Q-Bert/Jehreg was a cheap bastard before but now we have fully documented proof.
We all know about my Xbox 360 win and the negotiations/bidding war/extortion involved in setting the firm price of $165.05. Read more
Friday's Virtual Sega Night a success.
Q-Bert (Jehreg) still sucks.
Seven members online in varying Halo 3 multiplayer types is counts as a success. Team games were very popular while free for all's were erratic to say the least.
Ice and Grendel improved as they figured out which way to hold the controller and to stop standing still for lengthy periods of time. Ice loaded up forge later to try to improve his flying but... well... frankly, it hasn't helped. Read more
When it rains, it pours
So, I was upgrading KC today (the server this website resides on) I was pretty much done.
My last step was to tune the dependancies and save a few configs. So I ran an automated script.
Well, the script ended up re-updating the main library that all Unix programs link to (glibc for the initiated). In fact, it downgraded my library. Now, only Apache and PHP work. That's why you can view this site right now, but I cannot login to my own machine, and no emails are being received or sent. Read more
Virtual Sega Night – Friday October 12th
This is an Officially sponsored HoC Event. Hence, no prizes cause we suck as a clan. Friday October 12th starting at around 9:00 PM. May be some activity early but nothing major.
Ice and Grendel are up from T.O. and will be joining us - this event is for them. Select individuals have been invited to attend non-virtually at the Blackwalt homestead (NO, not you).
Halo 3 and/or Rainbow Six Vegas are the games of choice. Read more
